The Department of Speech, Hearing and Communication is one of the core technical department of CRC Nagpur speech, Hearing and Communication department deals with intervention process of persons having hearing, speech language and communication disorders.

Function of the department as follows, assessment diagnosis & intervention of hearing, speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication disorder in children and adults. Awareness generation in community about RPWD. Research in the area of speech & Hearing.

• Hearing aid selection, trial & fitting under ADIP scheme.

• Voice therapy.

• Dysphagia therapy.

• Parental & sibling counseling.

• Public education.

• Extension services – camps in rural area.

Counseling is important aspect in intervention process. PwDs parent, siblings provide counseling & supports to assist special needs & support to facilitate the integration of the PwDs into the family. Speech and hearing department do provide counseling services.

RCI recognized DISLI course, 2 yrs course is proposed for 2020-22.
